From July 2022, speed limiters will be automatically integrated into new vehicles. A way to limit incidents on the road.
In a few months, the new vehicles produced will have an integrated speed limiter. An intelligent system that will be based on a camera capable of reading speed limit signs and on geolocation systems. Motorists will be warned in the event of speeding. However, the car will not be restrained and the driver will remain king of the vehicle: he can, if he wishes, force the acceleration and override the imposed limit.
Vehicles produced from July 2017 will have this new system allowing “to help always be at the right speed”, as Vincent mentions Martinier, Marketing Director at TomTom France. For some drivers, this is an interesting measure, especially in terms of road safety. “I think it’s good, like that, there will be fewer accidents, it reminds us to order, we will have fewer fines”, testifies a driver. Thanks to this system, which can be deactivated at start-up, accidents could be reduced by a third.
