News from the agricultural world with Sébastien Péjou

This weekend, Péri’Meuh Sarlat invites the agricultural world, from the department and elsewhere, to take possession of the capital of the Périgord noir. In the tradition of agricultural shows, Péri’Meuh brings the rural world closer to the city to better celebrate the agricultural sectors of our department and, more broadly, French agriculture of the 21st century.

Through the proposed activities, Péri’Meuh emphasizes the essential role of agriculture in our society. It also makes it possible to address various and varied issues such as environmental protection, animal well-being, product quality, land-based professions, etc. and to discuss a number of issues. More broadly, Péri’Meuh pays tribute to the women and men who support our agriculture on a daily basis.

From the recording studio to the barn

Born into a family of farmers, Sébastien Péjou turned to law studies before entering a school of journalism. Portrait of this multi-talented man.

Since taking over the family farm in 2016 in Meuzac in Corrèze, Sébastien shares his life between his passion for farming and his job as a journalist for the GRAL (group of free associative radios in Limousin). Through his gaze as a journalist and a farmer, Sébastien Péjou fights to change prejudices about the agricultural environment. Purchasing power is also a very important subject, because for our guest all farmers should live decently from their work and be able to offer products at affordable prices for the general public.

Our elders already practiced sustainable agriculture, it is a working method that more and more farmers are using today. S.Pejou

The Occitan language and culture, a matter of transmission

Immersed in Occitan culture from a very young age, Sébastien likes to transmit and speak this Occitan language which is close to his heart, in particular thanks to the theater troupe “Bat de l’aile” of which he is the president.

The Troupe Bat de l’Aile is an association founded in July 2006.
This troupe brings together young people who all have in common a passion for theatre, music and singing. This association, which has a cultural goal, does not forget to promote the Occitan language by using Limousin without moderation in these texts… Everyone can be reassured, their shows written in Limousin always include a part in French so that everyone can understand. Sebastien Pejou also writes articles in the Occitan language in the magazine “Vivre à Limoges” municipal bulletin of the city of Limoges.
