Charles-Le Moyne hospital in Longueuil recorded 17 active cases of COVID-19 on Friday from five outbreaks, confirms Joëlle Jetté, media relations information officer for the CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre.
Visits to the Charles-Le Moyne hospital are restricted in the rooms of the infected units “depending on the extent of the outbreak and the vulnerability of the patient”, specifies Joëlle Jetté by email. Visits from caregivers and for humanitarian reasons are still allowed, but under certain conditions.
The hospital also recommends that visitors call ahead to avoid hot spots. Joëlle Jetté recalls that wearing a mask, washing hands and physical distancing are compulsory in health establishments.
In the week of September 18, there were 263 active outbreaks in the province. Quebec recorded 1,528 hospitalizations and 40 people in intensive care on September 22.
