one accused acquitted and the other sentenced to 6 years in prison

The trial in the case of the death of Béli Nébié ended this Friday at the end of the day. The assize court for minors in Pau delivered its verdict and handed down a six-year prison sentence for the older of the two, for willful violence resulting in death without intention to give it. He was imprisoned after the verdict. The youngest of the defendants was acquitted. The Advocate General had requested for the first, a sentence of six years in prison, and for the second, nine months in prison suspended on probation for two years.

Two young people were accused of having killed Béli Nébié on May 18, 2018, in Pau, in the square of the Zaragoza district in Pau. He had been beaten and died along the wall of the fire station. A fight involving a dozen young people occurred after insults and/or a narcotics debt of €50. These are the reasons that were mentioned. The trial was held behind closed doors at the Assize Court for minors in Pyrénées-Atlantiques. At the time of the events, the two young men were 17 and 16 years old.
