Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see them worn on one of the stars tonight. At la cicada embroiderer, a small family business from Notre-Dame-de-Sanilhac in the Dordogne was chosen to make bathrobes for the twelve stars of the show and their dancers. They were delivered earlier this week.
Their first names in gold
“We see two hours of TV shows, but it actually lasts seven hours! Each time they go, they have to change, but they’re not going to undress, get dressed, undress, get dressed”, explains François Doucet, the founder of embroidery. He was contacted by production who wanted a French company. 24 bathrobes were therefore produced. They are white, with the first name of each star or dancer embroidered on the back, in gold. The seamstresses even had to make one to measure, for the judoka David Douillet.

François Doucet is now waiting to be able to see them, on his small screen. “Sometimes they report behind the scenes or when the dancers are in training”he smiles. “We are a small company, we can’t afford an ad on Tf1, so if it can give us some publicity, that’s good!”he adds.
He counts in particular on the social networks of the stars, and their hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Maybe one of them will make a little video and put a spotlight on his Périgord business.
