A consumer association has carried out a study highlighting abuses concerning the packaging of food products. Explanations.

On supermarket shelves, appearances are sometimes deceiving. The packaging contains up to 55% vacuum. This is what denounces a study on 250 products carried out by Consumption Housing living environment, a consumer association. Oversized sachets or empty cartons now shock consumers. “I don’t even have words, it annoys me”, protests a woman. Another agrees: “First, it’s not honest with the customer, and second, it’s a waste of cardboard…”

These empty packages can be useful. Indeed, some contain natural gas to protect the products. However, the association also denounces poor application of the law. Indeed, we can still find fruits and vegetables in plastic, although it has been prohibited since the 1st January 2022.
