That of a young man who has always felt special, different, a funny bug. But who, with time and talent, has won the hearts of an audience aged 7 to 77. Go girl! »
Harmony by Jean-Michel Blais
Pianist Jean-Michel Blais continues his tour aubades at the Theater du Vieux-Terrebonne. If you want to let yourself be transported by his music, it’s an appointment on September 24 at 8 p.m. “In concert, the pianist and his orchestra make the album aubades a celebration, wrote Marissa Groguhé in her review of the concert given at the Festival international de jazz de Montréal. The show is a bearer of bliss, even if sometimes melancholy caught up with us listening to certain pieces. But the light that most of his pieces project has invaded Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. It was divine. »
A story of the second chance at the Center du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui
The room Titan Corps (survival title) is in its final days at the Michelle-Rossignol hall of the Center du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui. The author and performer Audrey Talbot recounts her long rehabilitation after a terrible bicycle accident. ” Titan Body (Survival Title) is a work that moves, but, above all, that celebrates the strength of life and the incredible resilience of the human being,” writes our critic Stéphanie Morin.
At the movie theater : I salute you bitch andThe Woman King
I salute you bitch, the shocking documentary by Léa Clermont-Dion and Guylaine Maroist, “wants us to experience online harassment and digital misogyny from the inside,” writes our journalist Silvia Galipeau. “With real messages, actually sent. Really received, above all. The documentary filmmakers wanted to worry us. And let’s say that in terms of anxiety, precisely, it’s successful. »

The Woman King is an ode to women and their strength, to Africa and its beauty. The warriors’ bodies in motion, the breathtaking landscapes, the clothes (what a job for Gersha Phillips’ costumes!), the songs, the dances… So many things amaze you in this feature film of more than two hours. The fight scenes are grandiose, everything is sumptuously choreographed. The moments of drama are heartbreaking. The plot is gripping. The whole cast (including John Boyega, let’s underline it, who plays a convincing king in the middle of all these actresses) is fantastic.

Youth theatre: the family in the spotlight at the Maison Théâtre
Single-parent, adoptive, homoparental, blended… In 2022, the family takes on a thousand and one forms. Together on the stage of the Maison Théâtre, Anne-Marie, Thomas, Jeanne and Inès (who form a real nuclear family) question young audiences aged 8 and over about what family ties mean. By letting the spectators into the intimacy of their daily lives, they offer a new look at the way we interact with our loved ones. A show signed by the company L’eau du bain and directed by Anne-Marie Ouellet. Performances of the play The family museum take place from September 23 to 25.
