“I don’t see her much anymore”: Catherine Frot confides in her adopted daughter Suzanne as rarely

At 66, Catherine Frot is a reference in French cinema and theater. Since 1986, she has been nominated ten times for the César, notably obtaining that of the best actress in a supporting role in 1997 for the work A family resemblance by Cedric Klapisch. An award she won again in 2016, thanks to her sparkling performance in Daisy, broadcast tonight on Arte. On the occasion of this ceremony, she had been seen in front of the Châtelet theater alongside her daughter Suzanne, whom she adopted in 1996 with the director Michel Couvelard, from whom she has since been divorced.

“I could see myself singing out of tune for a long time in the kitchen in front of my daughter, it will remain engraved in me”, had confided the actress when making her speech. For her part, the girl of Mauritian origin, then congratulated her mother by posting an adorable message on her Facebook account: “The best actress, the best mom, the best singer and the most beautiful person I know… I love you and I’m proud of you, César or not”. Suzanne now works in humanitarian rights in Africa. “I don’t see her much anymore“, regretted her mother, who remains very proud of her. In May 2016, during an interview granted in the world, the actress had already expressed her daughter’s desire to do something other than cinema in her life. “She doesn’t want to be an actress at all, she studies anthropology and European law.” she then confided, hoping all the same “that she will continue to love reading, writing, music.
