The 74-year-old pedophile was sentenced to 12 years in prison in February 2020 for sexually assaulting two vulnerable boys and setting up a platform for sharing child pornography for Quebec pedophiles. André Faivre acted as a “mentor” to other pedophiles as the head of a structured network aimed at “promoting pedophilia”.

André Faivre was arrested thanks to the courage of an undercover agent who joined the “social club” by posing as a pedophile attracted to young boys. For months, André Faivre gave him advice on how to attack the fictitious young neighbor of the undercover agent.

In the 80s and 90s, André Faivre sexually assaulted a teenager who was experiencing severe developmental delays. Having become an educator in a foster home for young boys, the predator attacked a young child. He would then write “chronicles” about his crimes and share them online.

If his overall sentence is 12 years, André Faivre was in fact only sentenced to four years in prison, since his period of preventive detention was calculated at double time. The septuagenarian is thus eligible for his statutory release, as he has served two-thirds of his sentence. This release is quasi-automatic in the law.

Until the end of his sentence, André Faivre will however be subject to strict conditions, including that of remaining at all times in a designated establishment, details the Parole Board of Canada in a decision made public on Wednesday.

The workers who supervised André Faivre say they are “very concerned” about his social dangerousness and consider his risk of recidivism “high”. A vision shared by the Commission which deplores the “deeply held” opinions of the offender on the notion that the pedophile is “acceptable”.

“You have verbalized your intention to maintain your membership in the BL community [Boy Lover]while renouncing however the activities of militancy”, indicates the Commission.

The Commission maintains that André Faivre made “no progress” during his detention. She is more worried about her intention to reconnect with former “companion pedophiles”. ” [Cela] seriously calls into question your potential for safe reintegration into society.

Among other conditions imposed by the Commission, he will be prohibited from procuring pornographic material, from being in contact with children and from owning a telephone. The judge had already deprived him of the internet for the next 15 years.

Labeled a “long-term offender”, André Faivre will be subject to long-term supervision for 10 years at the end of his sentence. His appeal proceedings are continuing.
