(Toronto) Postmedia Network said Wednesday that nine of its city dailies will no longer be printed and delivered on Mondays starting Oct. 17.

Postmedia spokeswoman Phyllise Gelfand said the Montreal Gazettethe Ottawa SunI’ottawa citizenI’Edmonton SunI’Edmonton Journalthe Calgary Sunthe Calgary Herald, The Province and the Vancouver Sun would all be affected by this decision.
She added that the electronic versions of the relevant newspapers – a digital replica of the print edition – would still be published on Mondays and the respective websites would still be updated with news articles and content.
Mme Gelfand said Postmedia is making the change as reader habits continue to change.
Postmedia has a “robust digital offering” and wants to focus on going “where [ses] readers find themselves,” she explained.
Mme Gelfand clarified that there would be no job cuts related to this company decision.
