The start of the 2022 Grenoble Walnut harvest will be given on September 26, indicates the CING, Grenoble Walnut Interprofessional Committee, based in Chatte (Isère). It is a single date for the entire territory of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). It concerns the nut growers of 261 municipalities along the Isère river from Savoie upstream and Drôme downstream, with a production core in Isère, particularly in southern Grésivaudan. Nearly 7,000 hectares of orchards will come alive at the same time on Monday morning, to the rhythm of shaking, picking then washing and sorting of the nuts.
