This is a discreet actress, almost a little mysteriouswho is about to go on stage in a few days, in The uncertainty principle. At 39, Laura Smet is not the type to pour out in the newspapers about her feelings and her desires. Surely scalded by too much media coverage in her youth, Johnny Hallyday’s daughter is rare and fiercely protects all of her private life.
However, on Tuesday, the young woman makes a few rare confidences on her husband, Raphaël Lancrey-Javal, who has shared her life since 2013 and whom she married in 2018. Indeed, both have joined forces to create their production box and launch different projects. “It amused me to create something with him, he’s a geek, me, not at all“, she confides to the Figarobefore indulging a little more on his desires for cinema.
“For five years, I have been trying to direct my first feature film, a psychological thriller. You can’t control everything when you shoot a film. Production allows you to do what you want. I like the idea of building something from A to Z with my guardian angel behind me“, she continues. A beautiful statement for the one who is also the father of her son Léo, born in October 2020 and who supports her in all the trials of life.
Cinema, a family story
More “serene” according to her, Laura Smet now approaches life differently : “Things happen when they have to be done. I’m less into speed than before, much more serene“, she explains with philosophy. It must be said that in the cinema, Laura Smet knows a ray: “fallen into the pot“, the young woman saw her parents before starting.
“I always saw my parents working, be on time, learn their lines, be super nice to everyone. I never heard them complain. My dad was doing crazy stuff on stage. In the end, lots of people were showing up in his dressing room, but he was interested in what the others were doing.“, she remembers. As a teenager, however, she wanted to be a star agent and even did an internship with her godfather, Dominique Besnehard, who introduced her to the profession.
But the passion for comedy catches up with her thanks to her mother, who will give him the best advice : “She always told me: ‘When you’re an actress, you’re not a model. In the image, you can be beautiful or devastated, that’s what makes an actress. Or you’re a model and you’re pissing off!’“. And we can be sure that Nathalie Baye like Raphaël Lancrey Javal will be proud of the actress she has become when they see her on stage!
