A page of history closed on Monday, September 19, with the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. An exceptional ceremony which could be followed by four billion people around the world.
The Imperial Crown accompanies the Queen for the last time on Monday, September 19. His coffin, placed on a gun carriage, was tugged by 142 Royal Navy marines. In military uniform, King Charles III walks behind his mother’s coffin. His sons, Harry and William, follow him. The precise transfer to Westminster Abbey (United Kingdom) then takes place under the solemn face of his daughters-in-law, Kate and Meghan. There is also the moving presence of two great grandchildren of the Queen, Charlotte and her brother George.
A few words written by the king are placed on the coffin. A few minutes before had place the arrival of the 2,000 guests from all over the world. Among them, US President Joe Biden and his wife, the Macron couple and, of course, the current First British minister, Liz Truss. Outside, a huge crowd sings the anthem “God Save tea King”. When the funeral procession arrives at Buckingham Palace, the Sovereign’s employees also pay their last respects. Windsor Castle (UK) will be the Queen’s final resting place.
