The Ukrainian nuclear operator Energoatom accused Russia, Monday, September 19, of having bombed the site of the nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, in Yuzhnoukrainsk, raising fears once again of a nuclear incident. “At 12:20 a.m. local time, the Russian army shelled the industrial zone of the nuclear power plant, clarified the public company on Telegram. A powerful explosion occurred just 300 meters from the reactors.”

Another Ukrainian nuclear power plant, that of Zaporijjia, had already been targeted by bombings in recent months, causing great concern in the West. kyiv and Moscow have mutually denied responsibility for these strikes on the site, occupied by Russian troops, and accused each other of risking a nuclear incident.
