Darrell Brooks Jr. is the suspect who was arrested in connection with the Waukesha, Wis., Christmas parade tragedy on Sunday, police said.

According to his social media accounts and court records, he has the profile of an amateur rap singer with a long criminal history. US media are reporting that two criminal cases are open for which he was released on bail for $ 500 and, more recently, $ 1,000 just days before the Christmas parade drama.
The man is also identified as Darrell E. Brooks Jr. and Darrell Edward Brooks Jr. Most of his social media accounts were deleted, including his YouTube channel In a music video, under the nickname MathBoi Fly, a truck Ford brand red is seen in the background.
Known to the police
According to the Milwaukee Journal SentinelBrooks Jr. has been charged three times in less than two years with recklessly endangering the safety of others, including on November 5, following an incident of domestic violence for which he was also accused of resisting or obstructing the work of an officer.
Always according to the Sentinel, in the most recent case, a woman told police that Brooks intentionally hit her “with her vehicle” as she walked through a gas station parking lot after a fight, according to the criminal complaint. The woman was hospitalized for her injuries.
Brooks was released from jail on Friday after posting $ 1,000 bond in the recent incident, court records show. In July 2020, he was also charged with two second degree counts of recklessly endangering the safety of others with a dangerous weapon. These two cases are still being heard in court.
Children among the 40 injured
Police squads attended a Milwaukee address used by Brooks after his name was mentioned on the radio frequency in connection with the Waukesha Parade incident, where at least 40 people, including many children, were injured when a red Ford Escape walked through the crowd.
According to the media Heavy, a red Ford truck appears on Google Maps at this address.
David Begnaud of CBS News tweeted that, according to a law enforcement official, the parade suspect “may have been fleeing a knife fight.”
Heavy also obtained the audio from the scanner indicating that Waukesha Police obtained ID with Darrell Brooks Jr.’s name inside the red Ford Escape which they recovered as part of the investigation into the Waukesha parade.
