COVID-19: Quebec reports 692 new cases and an increase in hospitalizations

Quebec reported 692 new cases of COVID-19 and two more deaths from the disease on Monday.

Of the new cases, 398 are people not vaccinated or who received a single dose less than 14 days ago, 23 had only received a single dose at least two weeks ago and 271 had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

The province’s death toll has now reached 439,763 infected people and 11,560 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

204 hospitalizations were reported Monday, an increase of five compared to Sunday. Of these patients, 46 are in intensive care, five more as well.

Twenty-one people entered the hospital on Sunday. Of these, 12 were not vaccinated or had received only one dose less than 14 days ago, one had only received one dose at least two weeks ago and eight had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

Of the two people who entered intensive care, one was either unvaccinated or had only received one dose less than 14 days ago and one had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

A total of 21,070 samples were taken on November 20.

In all, 3,582 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Quebec in the past 24 hours.
