After months of no progress on the investigation into the attack on PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui, new information has revived the case. Friday, September 16, her ex-teammate in Paris, Aminata Diallo, was indicted for aggravated violence and criminal association.

November 4, 2021: Kheira Hamraoui is violently attacked
This case begins on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Kheira Hamraoui, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, is violently attacked after an evening organized by his club in a restaurant in the Bois de Boulogne. All players and staff are present.
While is driven home by car by one of her teammates (Aminata Diallo), Kheira Hamraoui is extracted from the vehicle by two hooded people. She is then beaten with an iron bar on the legs. Diallo is surrounded by the attackers. This aggression, violent on a physical and moral level, cost the player several stitches in the legs and hands. An injury that deprived her of the pitch for several days, and in particular of the Champions League match against Real Madrid on November 9. November 10, 2021: Aminata Diallo taken into custody
A few days after the attack on Kheira Hamraoui, her teammate Aminata Diallo was arrested on November 10 at her home in Marly-le-Roi (Yvelines), and placed in custody by investigators from the Versailles judicial police. During her hearing, the player denied any involvement in the charges against her. The next day, after 36 hours in police custody, she emerged free, without any charges brought against her.
March 24, 2022: Hamraoui’s defense denounces the “harassment” of certain PSG players
The player’s lawyer denounces in a letter addressed to the club “a number of facts” in the Parisian locker room “which seriously impair psychological health” of his client since his attack.
Since Diallo’s assault and police custody, Hamraoui’s relationship with several of her teammates has indeed deteriorated, with the latter reproaching her for her police custody. His lawyer points “a campaign of harassment and denigration” led by several players against his client. Insults, threats, intimidation are also added to this list.
April 20, 2022: a “relative” of Diallo taken into custody
That day, a “friend” of Aminata Diallo is arrested and placed in police custody. According to elements of the investigation, this individual, “major” and “known to the police”, “would have played a role in the aggression” of her teammate, Kheira Hamraoui.
In the sights of the investigators, the hypothesis of a rivalry between the two players, who play in the same midfield position, is considered at first and then abandoned. This “friend” is also released without any charges against him.
September 15, 2022: four men in police custody
After months of no progress, a new twist is relaunching the case. Four men are taken into custody on Thursday, September 15, and three of them, in their twenties, admitted their presence at the scene of the attack.
In front of the investigators of the Brigade of repression of the banditry of the judicial police (PJ), they recognized a certain implication, but the unfolding of the facts is still not clearly defined. A fourth man, aged 19, was also interviewed following his arrest on September 15. He recognized hitting the victim. These four individuals were then indicted for “criminal association” and “aggravated violence”.
“All four implicate Mrs. Diallo (…) as being the sponsor of the violence, to allow her to occupy the position of the victim during future competitions”, explained the parquet floor of Versailles. Two were imprisoned, and the other two placed under judicial control.
September 16, 2022: Diallo indicted and remanded in custody
The French international is once again in front of the inspectors on September 16 and is indicted and placed in pre-trial detention following his hearing. The authorities suspect her of being the sponsor of the attack on Kheira Hamraoui, against a backdrop of sporting rivalry.
“Madame Diallo wanted a deferred debate” before the judge of freedoms and detention, after his indictment, “and in the meantime, she has been provisionally imprisoned”, explained the parquet floor of Versailles in a press release.
September 17, 2022: Kheira Hamraoui comes out of the silence
For many months, the PSG player remained silent, and far from the media sphere. A decision on which she decided to return, Saturday, September 17. On her Twitter account, she published a press release, where she tells this “dark evening”, “oh so traumatic” which turned into a “absolute injustice”. This press release is accompanied by photos showing his injuries.
