The picture of the royal family reunited around Charles III had it just been shattered? While the sovereign, appointed on September 8 after the death of his mother Elizabeth II, has been doing everything to bring together the various members of the clan for a week, Buckingham Palace is keeping watch… and it is out of the question for him to compromise on the rules!
A few days ago, the DailyMail announced in fact that a dinner would be given this Sunday at Buckingham Palace, to bring together the very many heads of state who arrived in London for the funeral of the queen.
And around King Charles III, several members of the royal family were to be reunited : his heir, prince William accompanied by his wife Kate Middleton, his brother, prince Edward, and his sister, princess Anne, are the senior members of the clan. All, in fact, work full time to represent the crown.
Senior members including no longer part Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle : since their departure to the United States, both had given up any royal title and any responsibility. However, as a sign of easing their relationship, still rather strained, the king had decided to include them in this dinner which will notably include Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden.
The “Firm” officially denies
But the management of Buckingham Palace immediately countered the king’s inclinations by finally announcing this Friday… that there would be no exception to the rule! No free pass therefore for Prince Harry, who will finally no longer be able to go to dinner as planned. If he made no comment, this decision must not have really pleased him, he who has already undergone a long and heartbreaking procession in civilian clothes, while his brother and father had put on their military uniform.
A uniform that he will finally have the right to put on this Saturday : on the occasion of a wake for his grandmother’s coffin in the company of his brother and their six cousins (Peter and Zara Phillips, Eugenie and Beatrice from York, Louise and James from Wessex), he obtained an exceptional the authorization to find his finery for ten minutes thanks to a decision of his father, who has been trying for a week now to bring him back into the family fold.
