What could be better than an election campaign to provoke a clash of ideas! To bring out constructive solutions that will move society forward.

This year, with five political parties with strong opinions, voters are entitled to a flood of particularly varied promises.
Just take the energy field.
From the project of new electric dams of the caquistes, to the idea of a state company for hydrogen from the liberals. From the more ambitious green plans of the Solidaires and the Parti Québécois, to the Conservative intentions of reviving GNL Québec’s liquefied natural gas export project… Well, we can say that there is no shortage of points of view to nurture a vigorous debate.
While it is sometimes difficult to agree on more divisive themes, there are also a host of subjects where it is easier to establish common ground.
Examples ? Fix our carbon exchange, the cogs of which are broken, take inspiration from Germany to get young people back to school, appoint a completely independent national director of public health, offer passes so that Quebec culture is accessible to greater number…
These are the kinds of ideas that the editorial team of The Press composed of Vincent Brousseau-Pouliot, Nathalie Collard, Philippe Mercure, Alexandre Sirois and myself.
We put our feathers together to unearth 25 ideas, concrete and achievable. Some are found, with a few nuances, in the electoral platforms of certain political parties. Others, we hope, can serve as inspiration for future engagements.
Of course, our list could not be complete without your contribution, dear readers. As 100 heads are better than one, we have launched an appeal to all. Fifteen of the responses submitted by the general public follow our dossier.
