Catherine, actress, and Léandre, musician, met. Sang. Their voices blended, revealing a common taste for folk, country, bluegrass. Songs were born, the duo found its name as one finds a house: Veranda. After two EPs, the first in French (blue yodeling), the second in English (Woodland Waltz), the time for the full album has come for our lovebirds with compound names: her, Audrey-Lachapelle; he, Joly-Pelletier. Beautiful story, beautiful free songs on rooted music. Almost all of them express the same dream of belonging from various angles. “I wasted my time rowing against the current”, observes Léandre, quickly joined by Catherine, in All rivers. The lowtitle song with “thousands of beacons”, is a long quest for the right place. U-turn, strange bird, Véranda sings in all tones of the desire to feel good somewhere, together, to overcome boredom. It’s not won, but he now has an album to share the horizon with you, and rocking chairs on the veranda.
