The first office of the metropolis of Saint Etienne since the revelations of Mediapart on the blackmail to the intimate video that Gilles Artigues would have undergone on the part of Gael Perdriau, his director of cabinet Pierre Gauttieri, and his assistant for education Samy Kéfi-Jérôme was held this Thursday, September 15 in the evening. Some of the elected metropolitan officials present left the office during the session.
The office brings together the 20 vice-presidents of the metropolis, its president Gaël Perdriau, as well as the mayors of the municipalities that are part of it. Gaël Perdriau began the session by referring to the case in which he is implicated, and asked the elected officials present to speak on the subject. The vast majority of elected officials present asked Gaël Perdriau to step back from his duties at the Metropolis.
Faced with the desire of the mayor of Saint-Étienne to continue to sit at the head of the Metropolis, several elected officials ended up leaving the room. The first to leave was the mayor of Lorette, Gérard Tardy. Then, after two hours of sessions, thanks to a suspension, a group of about fifteen elected officials, among whom were for example the mayors of Ricamarie and Sorbiers, respectively Cyrille Bonnefoy and Marie-Christine Thivant. In the name of the common interest, they explain, and the continuity of the services of the metropolis. But for the mayor of Sorbiers the choice was not easy.
This group of elected supporters of the empty chair has not yet adopted a common position vis-à-vis Gaël Perdriau. They do not know to this day if they will present themselves at the next metropolitan council scheduled for September 29.
