On its Facebook page, the town of Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne “wish Henry Bertron a pleasant retirement without getting white hair”. Henry Bertron is one of the town’s most famous craftsmen. He had been practicing for more than 50 years. He has styled several generations of Mayenne people and was, for many of his clients, like a member of the family.
Locals, too, pay homage to the local scissor star: “It was always a pleasure to come and have my hair cut”, “Bravo for your dedication to your clients, happy retirement to you”, “Happy retirement and enjoy”.
