since the pandemic, the kiss has disappeared from the office

According to a survey conducted by the recruitment site Qapa, by 2020, 72% of French people had stopped kissing their colleagues – which still leaves 28% of kissers against all viruses – but this figure is increased to 91% refractory in 2021 and 90% in 2022.

The handshake is back and it’s no less orthodox from a health point of view, but the good old handshake is back in action at work. 41% of employees say they want to be able to shake hands with their colleagues again, whereas they were only 27% in this case in 2021. Those who resist handshakes, which are just as contaminating, are therefore fewer in number. They go from 52% in 2021 to 39% this year.

French employees, however, have learned to live with the virus, so there is no longer any question of going to work if they do not feel well. At the slightest symptom, now, isolation is required. Nearly three-quarters of employees surveyed say they will stay home as soon as they feel bad. This is much more than in 2020, at the start of the epidemic: two years ago, only 48% of French people were ready to stop at the first signs of the virus. They will also be very vigilant with their colleagues: 79% of employees say they will ask a sick colleague to stay at home so as not to take the risk of contaminating the rest of the team.

However, they do not want to put the mask back on at work, but some are not ready to let go, even if it is no longer mandatory. They are 19% to continue to wear it in the office in the absence of any instructions. But the majority of employees, 54%, have no intention of putting it back, whatever the situation. Only 27% will agree to wear it if asked. What could well happen: 92% of French people are convinced that the epidemic will come back every year like the flu.
