The Quebec government adds 12 deaths to the death toll of victims of COVID-19 and reports a jump of 34 hospitalizations compared to the previous day.
The Health Ministry on Tuesday reported one death in the past 24 hours, 10 deaths between two and seven days ago and another death more than seven days ago.
There were 1,600 hospitalizations, including 559 due to COVID-19, an increase of 34 from the previous day. In intensive care, the total was 33 patients, 18 of them due to COVID-19, an increase of four from the previous day.
The ministry reported 902 new cases, although the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.
As for health professionals, 3,470 workers were absent for COVID-related reasons, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.
During the day on Monday, 176 rapid tests were self-reported, including 144 positive. The total stands at 286,751 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 240,264 positives.
In terms of vaccination, 15,374 additional doses were administered, for a total of 20,921,815 doses administered in Quebec.
