While the funeral of Elizabeth II will be held on Monday, September 19, French expatriates in London, United Kingdom, are preparing before this particular day.

The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday, September 19. In a French restaurant, located near Buckingham, in London (United Kingdom), a waiter will take advantage of the public holiday, Monday, to attend the funeral of the queen, whom he describes as “historic moment”. In the United Kingdom, many French expatriates share the pain of the British. “In a world where everything changes, it was a constant”assures a woman.

The French, though republicans, have a certain fascination for the queen. A bookseller believes it is because they are intrigued by the workings of the monarchy. Younger French expatriates are less affected by the disappearance of Elizabeth II. “Personally, I won’t be queuing for a whole day”, says a woman. The new king, Charles III, mastered French perfectly, like his mother.
