The collision would have occurred on rue Saint-Hubert, in the borough of Ville-Marie.
According to information collected by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) from witnesses, the woman was struck by a driver who was going south, while she was trying to cross the street, somewhere between boulevard Maisonneuve and rue Ontario.
At this location, located behind the Gare d’autocars de Montréal, the street has only two lanes, in opposite directions.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition while the driver, a 78-year-old man, was reportedly uninjured.
SPVM investigators went to the scene to try to reconstruct the circumstances that led to the collision.
