The Ukrainian army took over some “2,000 kilometers of territory” in September, assured the Ukrainian President on Saturday 10 September. Volodymyr Zelensky did not specify whether it was km2 in a video posted on Telegram. “In recent days, the Russian army has shown us what it has best: its back. After all, it is a good choice for them to flee”he hammered. “There is no place in Ukraine for the occupiers, and there never will be”he added.

Ukrainian forces also said on Saturday that they entered the eastern city of Kupyansk. This locality had been in the hands of the Russian army for several months. This is a key position as it is on supply routes to other Russian positions on the front line.

Shortly after, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had “took of” its forces present in the regions of Balakliïa and Izium, in eastern Ukraine, “in order to strengthen the efforts” around Donetsk, one of the capitals of the pro-Russian separatists.
