On September 9, 10 and 11, direction Mialet (or Mialet, in Occitan) for the Saint Michel Festival organized by the association Miallet with a green thumb. An association created at the end of 2018 which aims to reflower the town but also to be at the initiative of festive moments.
A little history
The feast of Saint Michel is an ancestral event which disappeared from the communes of Périgord in the 1980s. It was an event which also spread over 3 days, but at the end of September (Saint Michel is the September 29), since at the time the children were still on vacation and had worked all summer with their parents (in the fields, farms, shops…). It was an opportunity to reward the youngest with sack races, agricultural exhibitions and cycle races.
And in 2022?
It’s almost the same, but a little earlier! Always on 3 days. And the association Miallet has the green hand decided this year to choose the theme “50s” hoping that the greatest number of people will dress accordingly to come and celebrate. See you on Friday for the opening at 6 p.m., the teams of volunteers have planned a surprise for the launch of the party, it’s not to be missed!
