Félix Auger-Aliassime will join the Canadian team for the Davis Cup Finals, which will be played starting September 13th.
Auger-Aliassime will replace Liam Draxl and Cleeve Harper. The rest of the team will be made up of Vasek Pospisil, Alexis Galarneau and Gabriel Diallo.
The 22-year-old will be taking part in the Davis Cup for the fourth time in his career.
Pospisil, 32, will be in his 24e participation, while Galarneau, 23, will take part in the competition for the second time. This will be a first experience for Diallo.
According to the new formula, adopted in 2022, the Davis Cup Finals are divided into two stages. The round robin will take place September 13-18 in four cities: Bologna, Italy, Valencia, Spain, Hamburg, Germany, and Glasgow, Scotland.
Team Canada is in Group B and will play at the Pabellón Municipal Fuente de San Luis in Valencia, along with Spain, Serbia and South Korea.
At the end of the round robin, the top two countries from each group will qualify for the final stage, which will take place from November 21-27 at the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena, in Malaga, Spain.
