You will enjoy visiting Limeuil by climbing up the Grande Rue which makes up the main artery of Limeuil. Most of the old houses that line this street were built in the 19th and 20th centuries, but some have retained features of the past, such as their slate roof or their right-hand chimney. In medieval times, these modest houses served as shields doubling the ramparts of the city. Passing through one of the fortified gates, the harbor gate and when you look up, you will see that on this door are lines and dates.
