Former federal deputy Pierre Nantel will run under the banner of the Parti Québécois in the riding of Marie-Victorin, on the south shore of Montreal. The place has been vacant since MP Catherine Fournier took over as mayor of Longueuil.
The former federal deputy in the riding of Longueuil – Saint-Hubert, Pierre Nantel will therefore try to take his place in an upcoming by-election.
The politician worked for the New Democratic Party from 2011 until 2019, when he was kicked out of his caucus.
Quebec has not yet specified the date of this by-election, but this exercise will be held after Christmas.
