The party is committed to investing $11 billion over ten years in regional infrastructure.

The Parti Québécois (PQ) wants to grant an additional $11 billion to catch up with infrastructure investments in the regions.

The tenth day of the electoral campaign began Tuesday morning in Haute-Gaspésie under the theme of regional development for the sovereignist formation.

It denounces chronic underfunding in infrastructure. To repair this “injustice”, a PQ government would add $1.1 billion per year over ten years to the Quebec infrastructure plan for a gain of $11 billion.

The PQ also wants to re-establish a Ministry of Regional Development. It would have branches in all regions, which could prioritize projects in collaboration with local actors.

If he becomes premier, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon will be designated as the minister responsible for the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region.
