A person is in police custody on Monday after the discovery of the body of a 19-year-old young man in a ditch in Sainghin-en-Mélantois in the Lille metropolis. According to Lille prosecutor Carole Etienne, quoted by AFP, “the first investigations made it possible to presume a road accident with hit and run“.
The victim’s body was discovered on the morning of Saturday September 3 by two cyclists. The young man was lying in a ditch on the road to Lille, on the edge of a field.
The circumstances of this accident and the identity of the person in custody are unknown at this time.
