Prime Minister Jean Catex has launched a plan for tourism, which amounts to nearly 2 billion euros. Indeed, it is an essential economic sector for France, and certain establishments have obtained a label which guarantees respect for the environment.
For nearly 20 years, a three-star hotel located in Thannenkirch (Haut-Rhin) has done everything to reduce its environmental impact and it started in the rooms. “At the ecological level we will have the lighting here which will be entirely in LED to try to consume as little as possible, and we will encourage our customers to the process of sorting waste“, indicates Alexandre Cazy, the assistant butler.
The owner of the establishment went much further, replacing his oil-fired boiler with a wood chip boiler. The chips are collected on site, in the Vosges mountains. The total cost is 250,000 euros. This virtuous investment does not yet bring him clients who come mainly to enjoy the spa. They leave, however, aware of the eco-responsible approach.
