This is the end of the hunt for the English crook Robert Hendy-Freegard. The 51-year-old was arrested by authorities in Belgium on Friday September 2. “He was intercepted yesterday afternoon at the wheel of his vehicle on a motorway west of Brussels. He was the subject of a European arrest warrant and his license plate was recognized, was scanned by a CCTV camera“, reveals the journalist Julien Gasparutto.
After spotting the fugitive, authorities were able to arrest him. “He was wanted for fleeing after knocking down and injuring two French gendarmes during a check at his home“, explains Julian Gasparutto. “Today he was heard by an investigating judge, here in Brussels. Belgian justice will rule in the coming days on a probable extradition to France“, reports the journalist. The man had previously served time in prison in the UK.
