The opportunities for gourmet outings are legion at the beginning of September. Here are two to put on your agenda this week.

The popular Burger Week is back for an 11e edition, until September 14. New this year: the festival is going plant-based, as the 400 participating restaurants across the country have been invited (without obligation) to create a plant-based burger.
A request from festival-goers that has come up often in recent years, the founders of the event, Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam, have seen.
As usual, the public will be able to vote for their favorite burger, and a few other prizes will be awarded, including the favorite of this edition’s ambassador, chef Kimberly Lallouz.
Martinique Gourmet Festival
Don’t want summer to end? Extend it on the occasion of the Martinique Gourmande festival, which organizes a large Creole market at the Grand Quai of the port of Montreal, on September 3 and 4.
Five guest chefs from Martinique will be on hand to taste emblematic dishes from the Caribbean island. We also promise entertainment, fifteen exhibitors, cooking workshops for children and a mixology competition.
The festival also continues until September 10 in a dozen establishments in the province (Palme, Bar Marmie, Rouge Gorge, Le Majestique, Ateliers et Saveurs, etc.) which put Martinican flavors on the menu.
