The Doctolib platform is a directory bringing together doctors of all specialties, but also unregulated professions, such as naturopaths or mediums. The College of Physicians warns the platform about the risk of confusion among patients.
On Doctolib, you can come across a practitioner specializing in “energy cleansing” (when you feel polluted)in “lineage cleaning” and in “location cleaning”. These “purifications” are invoiced between 65 and 300 euros per session. On the site, there are energy specialists, masters reikimediums and naturopaths. These are unregulated professions whose practice is not based on any scientific or medical basis. Many doctors say they are shocked to be able to find them in a directory of health professionals.
To respond to criticism, the platform has decided to indicate the mention “this practitioner exercises an unregulated profession” but the warning was not indicated everywhere. The Order of Physicians warns Doctolib, because it misleads people according to them. The platform announced that no appointment would be possible before the right to practice has been verified. It therefore seems to want to keep doctors and naturopaths on the same platform.
