The Green MP from Paris has a very special message for children who are victims of violence at school: “To those who will enter with a lump in their stomachs to suffer the violence that can exist in the playground: never forget it, whoever you are, you are extraordinary.”
07:51 : I read the article on the resigning teachers and I find myself a little in each testimony. I am a teacher in two small private colleges under contract. We often believe that we are better off but it is not true, it is even downright the opposite. There are also difficult students and students in great difficulty. We lack resources and we feel it every day. Broken equipment is not replaced, we work with manuals that are no longer renewed and we are asked to save money on photocopies… I am 50 years old, I was established in 1997 but I had already made replacements before. I earn a little less than 2200 euros per month. If I want to have a full pension, I will have to work until I am 67! Suffice to say that I do not see myself at all in front of students at that age. I’ll be fine, but what for? Not easy at my age. Since 2015, I have had health problems and work stoppages. Even though all of these problems are not just work-related, it contributes a lot to it. I go back to college without motivation and almost sad. this is the first time that it happens to me.
07:51 : In the comments, @Aveyron45 says he recognizes himself in the article that we devote this morning to resigning professors. I allow myself to publish his testimony.

07:37 : Emmanuel Macron has a message for the 12 million school children who return to the classrooms this morning:
07:20 : One figure, just one, to fully understand the phenomenon: in the 2020-2021 school year, 2,300 teachers resigned, according to ministry figures. They were only 804 four years earlier.
07:20 : They will not return to their classrooms this year. Lack of recognition, feeling of helplessness, red tape… Teachers told our journalist Rachel Rodrigues the reasons that led them to throw in the towel. “It was either to leave, or to stay in the boat and to sink”, summarizes for example Marie. His testimony and all the others can be read here.
