Mother of three children, Julie does not support any contraception and has already had to undergo several abortions. But so far, no doctor has agreed to her having sterilization. For Brut, the young woman testifies.

“I tried different pills. I tried the hormonal IUD. I tried the copper IUD. All of them really had a super negative impact. The condom is not 100% sure. And besides, my last abortion was because of a condom accident.” Tired of contraceptive methods that do not work at home, Julie, a young mother of three children, has made her decision: she wants to be sterilized. But after a dozen appointments, the doctors all refused to tie his tubes because of his age. “I only had refusals, because I’m only going to be 29 in a few months and, suddenly, for them, it’s too young. Despite the fact that I have three children, despite the fact that I have three abortions under my belt. Despite birth control concerns…”

During her consultations, she had to suffer on several occasions inappropriate remarks from the doctors. “The basic thought that comes back to me from all the doctors I’ve had is: ‘Yes, but what if you lose one of your children?’ I still had a child. I will not make a replacement. It’s not a doll.“Her husband, who had thought of having a vasectomy when he saw the doctors refusing to operate on his wife, is faced with the same problem. “He presented himself to several urologists and all had the same speech of ‘you are too young’”. Today, the young couple is desperately trying to meet a doctor who will understand their decision. On social networks, they share their story and hope to be heard.
