It’s almost too quiet on the Canebière. After having quietly walked on OGC Nice (3-0) on Sunday, Olympique de Marseille is in great shape before welcoming Clermont Foot 63, Wednesday August 31, at 9 p.m., for the 5th day of Ligue 1. Nice, Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez scored twice, while captain Dimitri Payet was started by Igor Tudor for the first time this season.

Both players are expected to be accompanied on the pitch by Nuno Tavares. The Portuguese left-back, on loan from Arsenal, has already scored three goals in Ligue 1. With ten points in four games, OM are joint leaders in the championship with PSG and Lens. During their last match at the Vélodrome, on August 20 against Nantes, the Marseillais demonstrated their strength in temper by winning 10 against 11 (2-1).

For their part, the Clermontois recovered well from the slap inflicted by Paris at the start of the season (0-5). After slapping Reims (2-4), the Auvergnats beat Nice (1-0) at the Gabriel-Montpied stadium. But on Sunday, the Rouge et Bleu rearguard was overtaken by the Hakes on the Lorient lawn (2-1). This Wednesday, we will have to be careful not to let the Marseille arrows pass to hope to bring back points from the Marseille city.
