Guadeloupean rapper Timal is in turmoil. Yesterday, the artist posted a video on the social network Snapchat in which we see him deliberately kicking his dog, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
In the sequence, the Guadeloupean rapper specifies that he “educates” his pet, who allegedly urinated on the floor. Frightened, the dog receives at least three kicks and is called “asshole”.
Alerted by Internet users, the 30 Million Friends Foundation reported the rapper’s actions on the Pharos platform and took up the case by filing a complaint for “animal abuse”. Timal’s two dogs were recovered by the Animal Protection Association and brought to safety, according to the Foundation.
While the rapper has just released a title with the successful rapper Booba, this outcry risks tarnishing the career of the artist. Many Internet users are calling for its boycott, as are defenders of the animal cause, like the journalist Hugo Clément or the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
Rubens Louis, alias Timal risks a heavy sanction. A case reminiscent of footballer Kurt Zouma convicted of hitting his cat in a video. The French defender was sentenced to 180 hours of community service in June, the British justice also prohibited him from owning a cat for five years.
