A few days before the opening of the trial of the Nice attack, Christian Estrosi announces Sunday evening that he will seize the public prosecutor on Twitter: he denounces “the dissemination on social networks of despicable messages referring to the attack in Nice“.

“We are going to seize the prosecutor, I appeal to the responsibility of the broadcasters, I am thinking of the victims and their relatives“, writes the mayor of Nice. He justifies his decision by sharing a screenshot of one of these messages: we see a photo of the truck from the Promenade des Anglais with this mention “Nissa shit, 80 fachos disappeared”.
The Nice attack, which occurred on July 14, 2016, killed 86 people and injured more than 400. The trial opens on September 5 before the special assize court in Paris, until November 15. Three defendants appear for “criminal terrorist association”.
