There is at least one advantage to going on vacation, after the traditional months of July and August: miss the start of the school year. These three Laval residents (Mayenne) have understood this well. Jean, for example, is a cook. Without children, he took the opportunity to leave the first half of September with friends in the South of France. “I avoid the crowd who is coming back to work, in September, etc.”, rejoices the young man. Upon returning from vacation, “People have already picked up the pace. I arrive more serene, since life has resumed its quiet rhythm”, expose John.
When they have to take their holidays during the traditional summer months, these vacationers have bitter memories. “I will not do it again”, prefers to have fun Ludovic, left once on August 15 in Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine). “There were too many people, it was very crowded”, remembers this salesman in a supermarket. Result: Ludovic has now decided: “Now I will always leave in September.”
Reduced price and peace of mind
The young mother Jennifer is impatient for her part before her holidays next week but she does not regret leaving in September: “The first reason is the price, which is much more attractive. [Avec mon compagnon,] we allow ourselves to go longer and further.”
She continues: “We are not bothered on the road, or even when we are on site visit, there are far fewer people and it’s quieter.” Jennifer intends to take advantage of this September tranquility during her stay in Annecy. Next year, she will no longer be able to leave at this time of year, because her daughter will be going to school in Mayenne.
