(Saint Paul) The Minnesota Wild agreed to terms with former Anaheim Ducks center Sam Steel on a one-year, $825,000 contract on Tuesday, adding depth to a nerve center.

The 24-year-old Canadian played 68 games last year for the Ducks, a career high, and had six goals and 14 assists.
A first-round pick in 2016, Steel had 24 goals and 41 assists in 197 NHL games over four seasons, all with the Ducks.
The Albertan became the youngest Ducks player to score a hat trick when he pulled off the feat on March 26, 2019, aged 21.
