For this story hour, the singer will be accompanied by Leila Donabelle Kaze, who lends her voice to the audio book just published by Boomerang Éditeur. Intended for children aged 4 and over, The starry skin of Anicea is the second children’s book by the former participant of The voice. A discussion with Renée Wilkin and Leila Donabelle Kaze will follow the reading.

The author and actress behind the webseries Fork, the third season of which has just been released on ICI Tou.tv, will be at the Book Fair to discuss with young people topics covered in his most recent novel, At the lake of love. In particular, it will be a question of reunion and the quest for identity. The one who also wrote the youth series The academy (and the two books that come from it) will also address the challenges and fun of writing for teens.

In addition to reading the album that won a Prix des libraires du Québec pour la jeunesse in 2020, a drawing workshop will be given by illustrator Sandra Dumais. Collective listening to an episode of the new podcast series Listening is also on the program. “Anxiety can give us almost as many symptoms as the biggest and scariest ride in the world,” we explain in this audio supplement. “We want to make history rhyme with knowledge”, summarizes Charlotte Beaussier, from La puce à l’oreille, the organization behind this podcast which currently has 21 episodes. Inspired by various Quebec youth titles, including What is a refugee? Élise Gravel and Matchstick soup, by Patrice Michaud, the episodes, intended for children aged 6 to 10, tackle a variety of subjects, ranging from underwear to biodiversity. After exploring Paris, New York and London, Biscuit et Cassonade recently traveled to the Moon, where they reunited with their friend Woody. Toddlers will be able to discover the space adventure of the two soft toys during a reading led by their creator Caroline Munger. How did she manage to get her two friends to lunar soil? The photographer will reveal the secrets behind some of her scenes. She will also present the many accessories and miniature sets that she designs herself for her books. In addition, Biscuit et Cassonade will soon be featured in a new web series on the Télé-Québec site.

Phylacterribles, volume 1 – The secret grimoire, by Alex S. Girard and Rig
A passion for comics? Young people aged 10 and over are invited to create their own work thanks to the advice given by the multidisciplinary artist Alex S. Girard who, in addition to being a cartoonist, practices snow and sand sculpture. The author and illustrator of the series The Goblards will dissect all the stages of production of a comic, from the raw idea to the final product. Alex S. Girard and his collaborator Rig have just launched the series Phylacterribles, a comic strip that presents learning to draw through fiction. In volume 1 – The secret grimoire, readers get tips on how to draw rats, flames and a Minotaur, among other things.
