A green fund of 1.5 billion euros will be earmarked for local authorities. This money should make it possible to reduce the energy consumption of buildings, thanks to new installations.
In Besançon (Doubs), large-scale work has been carried out to renovate a school and have the walls and roof changed to adapt to the ecological transition. “We also put photovoltaics for self-consumption, a green roof“, describes Christophe Bergerot, the director of the architecture department at the town hall of Besançon. The total cost of the work will amount to 60 million euros to renovate the 64 schools in the city.
Energy consumption will be halved thanks to these new installations. The creation of a green fund of 1.5 billion euros could greatly help local authorities to carry out this work. “We can only be satisfied on that (…), after that we will have to see more concretely how it will be declined“, believes Fanny Lacroix, vice-president of theFDMA. The details of this budget allocated to the energy transition should be unveiled in the fall.
