Medical authorities have told the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL) that the two injured men will be saved.

Police were notified around 11:30 p.m. that shots had been fired in the Empire Park area near Churchill Boulevard.

SPAL patrol officers arrived at the scene and soon found two men aged in their twenties who had both been hit by at least one firearm projectile.

Friday morning, investigators and members of specialized squads were trying to establish the circumstances of what happened.

The police dismissed the thesis of a conflict linked to organized crime. The victims seemed to know the suspects and would not be linked to the underworld.

A security perimeter has been erected. The section of Churchill Boulevard between Springfield and Parent streets was closed to traffic on Friday morning. No arrests had been reported.
