The RNR begins its Pro D2 season in Massy this Friday

It’s back to school for Norman rugby players. This Friday, they will be on the lawn of the Jules-Ladoumègue stadium, in Massy. A meeting against the promoted and reigning French National champion, to start the Pro D2 season. A meeting which is not easy for the coach of the RNR, Nicolas Godignon.

“They’re a respectable team. he assures, being champion of France is something that happens very little in a player’s career and in a club’s history. It’s a team that has done a lot of lifting but it’s a team that has experience of that, it’s not a new promotion that has never met this level”. The coach wants his players to apply the principles of play worked on during the preparation phase which is coming to an end, in particular efficiency in the scoring zones.

Nicolas Godignon wants to do better than last year

After a bitter battle during the 2021-2022 season for maintenance, what objective this year? “Do better, launches Nicolas Godignon. If you do less you are no longer there [en Pro D2] so to do better would be good”.

After two seasons at Bourg-en-Bresse, scrum-half Florent Campeggia is happy to be back with the Lions. And the feelings are good: “We prepared well all summer, physically we seem in place, in our game we have put things in place that we have been repeating since the start so we hope to be at the level”. Verdict this Friday, the kick-off of the match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
