(Las Vegas) Veteran Phil Kessel agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.

Last season with the Arizona Coyotes, the right winger recorded eight goals and 44 assists in 82 games.
The 34-year-old American has played 982 consecutive games in the NHL and is trying to top defenseman Keith Yandle and his record streak of 989 games in a row.
Kessel started this series on November 3, 2009 in his first season with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
During this sequence, he also wore the uniform of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Coyotes. He had previously played for the Boston Bruins, who selected him fifth overall in the 2006 draft.
Winner of two Stanley Cups with the Penguins, Kessel had 81 points (34 goals and 47 assists) in 96 playoff games.
In career, he amassed 956 points in 1204 matches.
