After Leclerc, it is now Carrefour which is deploying an anti-inflation operation. The group has chosen to block the price of 100 products, in a context of declining purchasing power.
Canned goods, food products or even hygiene products will see their prices blocked by Carrefour for the next 100 days. The group launches this operation on a hundred products to fight against inflation. “It is part of a broader scheme of support for the purchasing power of French people and customers“, assures Stefan Bompais, director of “customer experience” for the Carrefour group. A similar operation had already been set up by the Leclerc and Casino brands.
With 6% inflation over one year, the French suffer when shopping. The approach of the new school year worries families, many of whom are turning to discount supermarkets. “I think it’s not expensive, it’s cheaper compared to other shops“, testifies this mother of a family. The government had recently called on the brands on many occasions to make a gesture.
